shabby little hutch

So the hubby sold his distributions  business and is now home. Like all the time. We are looking for another small business to start up or buy but, right now hes just HOME.

I was soo excited to have him home, untill he went crazy picker on me.  He has watched me pick for the last year and do some small projects around the house.

he hated this one....

he doesn't understand my chalkboards or the frames on the wall that have no pictures in them.

But when i sold a cabinet for 200 bucks that I scored for 25 bucks....well he liked that!
and now he drives all around town looking for a deal.

can I show you what hes brought home.

YEAH!  Pomeranian nesting tables!
He is getting better and has scored some interesting pieces. I will be posting some of my re-dos next week.

Here  is to hoping he finds a new business real soon!!!

kitchen tour

So here are some shots of my kitchen.  I love my cabinets and my very bold counters. If i had my way ever 5 years I would change everything, but we live in the real world. Well at least some of the time. We had our house built in 2005 and at that time bold granite was all the rage!

Ok so things I would change:
 the horrible electric stove...hate it!
I am not loving that make memories sign.
I think I want to paint the kitchen a lighter color.
and lastly i would like the bottom cabinets black.
Oh heck  while I am dreaming i want marble counter tops.

In reality I LIKE my kitchen

Here is the view into the ??? area.  I think that's where the intended my dining room table to go.  Umm, we are Italian's, dining is a lifestyle.  We have a 12 foot table (PICS NEXT WEEK).

Blue Nadal Room - Breakfast Table

THIS IS MY INSPIRATION FOR THAT AREA. I love the setup not the material or heavily ornate table. I also love the idea of the cabinet that is tall and enclosed with glass surrounding the window. I am on the hunt for the chairs as we speak!

Sorry for the MIA.  We have been very busy.  I have a garage full of furniture to redo and will be posting new stuff in the coming weeks.

XOXOXO   danyelle

close up of the pool

So here are some shoots of the pool in summer time.  I tried to take some shoots this week but it has been gloomy all week.

DON'T MIND MY HUSBANDS FEET...LOL.

We spend a lot of time in the backyard its one of the only ways to escape the 100 + degree heat that starts in may and ends in oct.

HOUSE TOUR...BACKYARD

I love my house... I have wanted to do a house tour for u for a while...but always worried about the unfinished or not picture perfect parts.

So here it is this month i am going to take you on a tour of my house and show u things I LOVE.....AND THINGS i AM WORKING ON.

SO LETS START WITH THE BACK YARD.

This is right outside our slider and small patio.  I know the gate is not sexy, but it allows me to sleep at night. the pool was built when E was 2 and g was in my tummy.  It has an automatic self latching lock that i can lock down  and never worry about it not closing behind me all the way.
.

This is our gazebo and bbq area.  we live in a.z. so grass is something you do not see a lot of in new homes. it just to expensive to keep watered.

I will show u closeups of the pool and bbq area and break down the ridiculous amount we spent on this backyard.  Live and learn.

I promise to get back into the paint and projects next week. I needed a break from the grind it was messing with my creativity to think i had to keep turning out project after project for the sake of my blog.  I am going to do it at my own pace from now on.

So here are a few of my current obsessions.....

hot cocoa party and sleigh rides.

I threw a party for our friends and the kids. I made a hot cocoa bar one for the kids and one for the adults.
we all piled in the back of my hubbys truck with blankets and slowly drove thru the neighborhood to look at all the lights. ( we live in a closed community so we did not have to get on any main streets.)

The kids had a blast and it was much eaiser then hosting a dinner party!

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

Rockford Sofa

So i am in desperate need of a new couch. the old one is in perfect condition, its just to small for a family of 4. I want something linen and probably a grey color because of the kids,
but look at these beauties..

subway art dresser

Sorry ..I am totally M.I.A.  This is my busy time for work and home. I have been creating as much christmas magic as I can over here at the love letters house, so projects and buying furniture has been on hold this month. No worries I will return in jan with some fun project and in feb we will be redoing the kids room and making some changes to the family room. So 2012 will be a home year.

Here is the subway dresser i made for my living room.

You can find the details of how i did it in this post  http://loveletterstoeandg.blogspot.com/2011/11/subway-art-dressermartucci-style.html

I love her more and more everyday. I am sure she will move eventually. I still think she is to small for such a large wall. Here is a Shot of the wall which is still a work in progress.

party like a rockstar!!

A elf of our own

I am very happy to announce that Finnly has made his debut at our house.  Finnly arrived yesterday with a note. the note read:

dear e and g,
Please help Finnly learn to be a better elf. Please show him the true meaning of Christmas spirit. He is a little mischievous and I can not have him in my work shop the last couple of weeks before Christmas.
I will pick him back up on dec 26.
love Santa

His first night at our house and he had a little party with barbie.
We did notice he shared his mint with her.

( he's an Annalee elf from t.j. max for $10 dollars)

family photos and stuff..

So i finally moved my subway dresser into the house. I love the dresser. I'm just not sure I love it in this space. It works for now and then after Christmas I think i might move it to the entry way or my sons room. I will have full shots of it tomm.

I leave u with some fun photos that we took on Sunday to use for our Christmas cards.  I love the way our Christmas card turned out. I will try to upload them next week. I used shutter-fly and spent around 40.00 buck.  the cards are full cards that open and have 3 different pics front, inside and back.  So since i spent nothing for the photos the 40 dollars wasn't so bad.
