 The kids and I got out of dodge last weekend and went to hang with family at the river. My parents have a boat and I grew up at the river when we moved out to California. My kids have only been on the boat about 3 or 4 times. Each time they are enjoying it more and more.

So this love letter is dedicated to the joys of parenting on vacation.....

to my g....

You were an angel this weekend! You listened and played so nicely with your girl cousins. You taught them love song baby and made small little dance for everyone to watch. You were also petrified of the boat and the bouncy waves that we encountered on the first day. Luckily you found a comfy seat in the back with mama and enjoyed the second day of boating. I love your bossy take charge skills that you masterly deploy onto other children without them even noticing. I love that when my usually calm and always responsible little boy acts up you know how to play the "i love you" card like a charm.  last but not least i love your to big for you swimsuit that kept falling off ur tiny little butt!

This is an amazing photo of my little man. It shows how all those baby features have started to change to a  very young man. This weekend you had a mean streak in you I have never seen in full force before. You wanted every second to be filled with playing games and non stop doing stuff.  The minute one of us stopped playing war or checkers with you , you cried out, " I'm bored so bored, this is boring." To add to that you were growling and running around to make sure you still had our attention. I knew what you were doing and tried to explain that it wasn't necessary to gain our attention that way, but that only made it worse. So i just sent you to the bedroom and ignored you. You came out eventually and were fully restored to the sweet ,fun loving ,easy going boy I know and love.

I had a great weekend with both of you and things are so much easier now that you are a little older. I look forward to many more boat trips and adventures with both of you!

I wish i could slow everything down and just live in these amazing moments, really live in these moments. I wish i did not have to worry about the bills, or laundry or work or anything but watching you guys grow before my very eyes. I don't know where the last 6 years have gone. I feel so lucky to have been able to be home as much as I am with you. I still feel like it is going by so fast. I cant remember those chunky little thighs or the way your bells stuck out after a warm bottle.

I had an amazing weekend with you and mama and papa in Prescott.  I love times like these when the world just seems to slow down for a moment and i get to really breath you in.

To my beautiful gia, gia pumpkin pea....happy birthday!!  I love ur sweet smile, your big blue eyes, the way you never let anyone get a word in. I love that scar on ur nose because of the bravery you showed in getting 6 stiched and not shedding a single tear. I love that you go full throttle towards everything. I love that I am a clean freak and you are a tornado everywhere you go.

You came to me 5 years ago and silently watched the world go by for months. I thought maybe something was wrong, you barely cried when you got shots, smiled on rare special occasions and laughter came after great prompting. Then one day your blue eyes shined bright and thats when the little girl inside woke up and the world has never been the same!!

Oh my sweet sweet E.  One day YOU will eat my chili...one day you will ask for seconds. What man does not love a good bowl of chili with cheese and avocado's and fresh cut tomatoes on top. One day you will love my chili. 
One day you might eat something I cook. You are the worst eater in the entire planet and it drives me CRAZY!! We had you sit at the table for an hour today trying to get you to eat a couple of bites of the chili.  I made it very mild and topped ur bowl with a huge helping of cheese then gave you scoops to eat it with thinking you would have more fun. OHH NOO! All I got were those big blue eyes staring at me. Looking like i put Rat Stew in front of you.

CAMPING!!

We are trying to get out of the heat and give the kids a little fun.  A bunch of us our meeting up to go camping this weekend. I plan to check out a friends canon this weekend and try to see if i can get some great shots of E and G. Im looking forward to sitting around the campfire laughing and watching the kids have a great time.

I have been married to Mr. LOve letters for 12 fun years.  We were just a couple of kids when we meet.  I was in beauty school and he was working at a industrial bolt supplier.  We have had such a blessed life, taking a ton of chances on different business thru the years. WE manage to always have each others back. That is what I think makes it work.

Thank you for always being up for an adventure, for being a gypsy at heart, but keeping your feet grounded for E and G. Thank you for your support of me working 50 hours a week or 10, for not being afraid to tell me when I am out of line and knowing when to zip it. For the laughs the crys and most of all my E and G.

Im looking forward to a new adventure with you......bring it!!!

I love having you home.  I honestly can not relate with typical joy other parents get when its back to school time. E you are such a pleasure to spend the summer with. You read, played legos, did your math work, cleaned your room. Most of the time you and your sister got along. I am going to deeply miss you.


You are on your way to such an amazing life.  YOU are so very smart and I am so proud of all the hard work you put into school. YOU take half day Mandarin and half day is in English.

I stand in awe at how sure you are of yourself . You marched right into YOU'RE school right over to the second grade rooms and right into you're class. 

I tried to un pack some of your supplies and you told me to wait till the teacher said it was OK.  I knew that was my que and I left.  I love you booboo bear and cant wait till you come home and tell me all about 2nd grade.

ohh I am in BIG trouble

Gia , Gia ohh what a Diva.  You ask me all the time what a Diva is. Well my darling, you are on your way to defining the word baby diva. I was trying to get you ready to go to the grocery store, nothing fancy. you have a new love of wearing your hair down, but unfortunately its half straight and half wavy and always a snarly mess. all I wanted to do was keep it out of those beautiful blue eyes.....and this is what you told me.  "do you want me to look like a present?."

 I am the ultimate multitask-er.  Not in a good way, I just have to much always going on upstairs, and have to do everything at once. So it was a cook meatballs, mop the kitchen and have kids work on math work all at once kinda morning. Only to be followed by me driving down to my shop and put in 6 to 8 hours at the salon too.

I don't think i have ever took a pic that has captured your amazing personality so well.  My little gia gia pumpkin pea, you are sunshine and rain, lightning and rainbows, laughter and tears all rolled up into one very small package. You constantly bully your older brother. You think at the ripe old age of 4 you know everything. You love to snuggle in bed with me and rub backs. We make up new back rub names, so far we have, karate chop, drums, tickle spiders, rain drops, explosion, shoulder heaven, water, crabby legs and skeleton vibrator.  I put you to sleep last night by  gently rubbing your face, you were out like a light.
You love to sing and dance and have the best fashion sense I know.  So this photo embodies all of that spunk and light you have.

E....... I had such a great date day with you yesterday.  You we very excited to see the last Harry Potter (i was too).
It was just you and I . G stayed home with daddy and she was not to happy about it. We got popcorn and I let you have a little soda and we settled in for a very long movie. I think you enjoyed the movie, but i know you loved the special time we had together. I got you a hot chocolate after the movie and you were a good sport to go thirifting with me for a little bit. I know how much you love shopping.

I stand in awe of the little man you have become. I love your long shaggy hair your amazing blue eyes and of course those dimples. I thank you for being such a mellow boy who enjoys a good book and hours of lego play. Most of all I love that giant, open to the whole world, heart of yours...keep it open...never stop being E......I love you bo bo bear.

man oh man how fast time flies by.  We went camping and u had to pee outside in the woods...you didnt really get the concept of squatting and u got really upset that i took this pic....i love u nannie poo poo...aka gigi...aka g$

tea party

This morning Gia convinced you (E) to have a tea party. The agreement was, when we picked you up from school, we would have all of the animals ready for a tea party. Eyan  you love taking care of people. you love cooking for them and playing teacher or waiter. so today you made panda , buddy, and giraffe a peanut butter and jelly sandwich....slowly little by little they ate it all ;) you are such a sweet brother to play with your little sister the way you do!!

it's not easy finding a girlfriend

Eyan and i were talking on his bed yesterday and her revealed to me he was thinking of getting a girlfriend. So like a good mom i began to dig, without sounding like i was digging. eyan said their was a girl who had been giving him the eye in the lunch line . When i asked what he did about it, he said, i gave her the eye back.

What eye does a 6 year old give? Why does he know about flirting at 6?

I have to admit i saw this coming for a long time. hes always been a romeo, but i didn't think it would happen this fast. I was very glad today when he announced that getting a girlfriend was just to much work. he said, " momma ,every time i want to ask her something i just forget what to say."

making something out of nothing

I am a cleaning fanatic. trying to balance keeping the house the way I like it, work, kids, feeding an italian husband and fun, well it is a constant struggle. today i made washing some dishes into making a crown for the bubble princess. ( Seriously i was multitasking and ended up with a bubble explosion.) so my little gia and I turned bubbles into crowns and tried to see who could walk with the tallest crowns.
