hot cocoa party and sleigh rides.

I threw a party for our friends and the kids. I made a hot cocoa bar one for the kids and one for the adults.
we all piled in the back of my hubbys truck with blankets and slowly drove thru the neighborhood to look at all the lights. ( we live in a closed community so we did not have to get on any main streets.)

The kids had a blast and it was much eaiser then hosting a dinner party!

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

So i am in desperate need of a new couch. the old one is in perfect condition, its just to small for a family of 4. I want something linen and probably a grey color because of the kids,
but look at these beauties..

subway art dresser

Sorry ..I am totally M.I.A.  This is my busy time for work and home. I have been creating as much christmas magic as I can over here at the love letters house, so projects and buying furniture has been on hold this month. No worries I will return in jan with some fun project and in feb we will be redoing the kids room and making some changes to the family room. So 2012 will be a home year.

Here is the subway dresser i made for my living room.

You can find the details of how i did it in this post  http://loveletterstoeandg.blogspot.com/2011/11/subway-art-dressermartucci-style.html

I love her more and more everyday. I am sure she will move eventually. I still think she is to small for such a large wall. Here is a Shot of the wall which is still a work in progress.

party like a rockstar!!

A elf of our own

I am very happy to announce that Finnly has made his debut at our house.  Finnly arrived yesterday with a note. the note read:

dear e and g,
Please help Finnly learn to be a better elf. Please show him the true meaning of Christmas spirit. He is a little mischievous and I can not have him in my work shop the last couple of weeks before Christmas.
I will pick him back up on dec 26.
love Santa

His first night at our house and he had a little party with barbie.
We did notice he shared his mint with her.

( he's an Annalee elf from t.j. max for $10 dollars)

family photos and stuff..

So i finally moved my subway dresser into the house. I love the dresser. I'm just not sure I love it in this space. It works for now and then after Christmas I think i might move it to the entry way or my sons room. I will have full shots of it tomm.

I leave u with some fun photos that we took on Sunday to use for our Christmas cards.  I love the way our Christmas card turned out. I will try to upload them next week. I used shutter-fly and spent around 40.00 buck.  the cards are full cards that open and have 3 different pics front, inside and back.  So since i spent nothing for the photos the 40 dollars wasn't so bad.

Christmas tee.....oh Christmas tree..

I finally feel like i am actually getting some stuff done......yeah!
I made this tree skirt yesterday and started some homemade ornaments..and completed a table runner....go Me!

here is the beauty shots

i got the idea from miss mustard seed....shes amazing!

super easy.Ready..set....Glue....

cut 4 inch sections of fabric. I used muslin.

I cheated and glued them to my very ugly old tree skirt...but You can make a new one out of matching fabric so u dont end up with the red showing thru.

then grab your glue gun and doce doe...glue pinch ...glue pinch...You get the idea!!!

I LOVE it..and I am ok that i did not make it super professional .  I change my mind and taste waaaaaaaaaaaaayyyy to much to worry about it lasting for years to come.
